Reflection:
     During this past week, I pushed myself to make the best out of each day. Although there isn't always much cushion room when you have a super busy schedule, I was able to spend time having fun and making the best out of every situation. It's very difficult to sit down at the end of every night and actually think of the good things that went on during your day. I noticed a lot of the good things that happened were because of my own doing, rather than the people around me doing things for me. They are not wrong when they say it is up to you to make it a good day or not. This week has been an exciting self realization for me. Although you can only see the good that made its way through my days, I've realized I have a lot of good things and good people in my life in which I don't always recognize for all they do for me. I hope I can take this week with me and remember to always look for the good in everything, as there is always good hiding behind all the bad of this world.

    Hey Ben! I also chose to do this task, and I had a lot of self realization as well. It really helped me try to see the good in everything. I loved the pictures that you included. I hope you continue to make your days good :)

    It was so cool to get to read about the good things in each of your days in a week! I thought it was a good idea that you included pictures of some of the things you listed, and not just the list itself. I did this exercise too and I agree that recognizing and writing down positive things about your every day life does show you all that you are blessed with. Good job!

    Hey Ben! I thinks it's amazing how much positivity you had during the seven days of this experiment and thank you for sharing it with the class. I really enjoyed reading this blog cause it looked like you put a lot of time and effort into it. Great job!

How We See and Feel Through the Eyes of our Brain

     Studying the brain and its behavior, I read many different articles of how the brain creates, processes, and, most importantly, feels. Looking at two specific video assessments over the brain, I was overwhelmingly fascinated by about how the brain works, and I still cannot get a grip on it. In Anjan Chatterjee's "How your brain decides what is beautiful," and Rebecca Saxe's "How we read each other's minds," both of these speakers discuss the brain's ability to express itself  through desire, sympathy, and many other powerful emotions.      In Chatterjee's speech, he discusses the connection our brain makes when each individual person sees beauty. Some observed factors over the years stretch from the likes of having a symmetrical face/body to a preference of the stereotypical looking man/woman, and just simple hormones. Dear Diary

Through the course of multiple journal entries, I pushed myself to defeat a common addiction/problem I have had all my life. I attempted to be healthier, better me, picking the salad instead of the cheeseburger or the veggie sub instead of pepperoni pizza. At the beginning of this experiment, I worked really hard to achieve these goals, picking a healthy sub or salad and drinking water rather than soda. If I did achieve these goals, I would reward myself by watching an episode of my favorite T.V show, relaxing and just enjoying my night. Later in the week, I was not as successful with my goals, eating late night sweets and drinking soda for dinner. I believe my behavior for eating and drinking healthier fluctuated by day, as some days I were better than others. I feel the biggest problem was not enough motivation.
